Be at Your Ideal Weight Everyday!

Hello Everyone ~

This video was inspired by Geneen Roth's wisdom. I love, cherish and appreciate her work on emotional eating and body image! I know the video is light and playful and this is how I think we should approach our weight and life! Is it really that serious? I know that the voice in our heads can feel very real, and that weight can sometimes consume our minds. But, life doesn't have to be that way.

Trust me I know as I have struggled with my weight and body image and I have come to realize that I am not going to allow the scale to dictate my moods. And, I am going to love my body everyday no matter what!!!

There are times I still entertain the voice that says, "Hey if you were 139lbs forever, you would be happy forever. You would never have to worry about anything ever again." But, the reality is even when I am at 139lbs that voice will nag me about something else that needs to change. Or will just find another area where it thinks I am inadequate! So, I have decided to have my scale tell me I am 139lbs every time I step on it! Yahooo! Sweet, now I can have an awesome day everyday! :)

We need to allow our bodies wisdom to come through. We need to listen to Her guide us... telling us what to eat, how to move our bodies, and when to sleep. She has all of these answers if we stop, listen, breathe and ask..."What does my body want now!?!" And, keep trusting Her to guide you. She will.

The world needs our light, our Goddessness to shine. We can't tap into our highest self if we are worrying about our weight! We need to love all of our cells, all of us  (even if it is a bit extra than we would like). Stand in awe of the miracle known as our body and give it the reverence it deserves!

To being happy & healthy in our bodies ~

Alexandra

  • you guys are tooo cute. I wish I lived closer lol!
I think that is a great idea as I totally know that feeling when I have thought"hmm i feel light today, I bet i have lost weight" and then gotten on the scale to see that I havent or even worse GAINED and my whole day is crushed and i feel fat...moments before I felt light.. the only thing that changed was a number I saw was different than what I hoped for!! SILLY !!!!
I am going to tape 142 on my scale!!!! wooohooooo

  • Hey Alexandra, what a great modeling of a great idea! And thanks for the link to our video with Lizzie Miller. Isn't she cool?
On a personal note: I pretty rarely weigh myself these days, but when I do, I can feel that old inclination to judge the number as a "yay" number or a "oh-oh!" number, even though I know better, and even though the number only varies by about three or four pounds on an annual basis (and it is generally higher now when I'm BETTER shape, because I'm sporting more muscle).
One thing I've noticed is that when I am eating well and working out and really taking good care of myself, I pretty much lose all interest in weighing myself. I'm having more fun observing and feeling the changes in my body (hurts-good sore muscles, new strength, energy and definition). And when I do get on the scale, the "yays" and "oh-ohs" just don't carry the same oomph. It's more like "Oh, okay, whatever."
I love the idea of giving the scale a perennially positive voice, though, by putting those magic words (or in this case, "ideal" numbers), right in its mouth. A really interesting experiment, too, in terms of the effect it would have on your days — and observing where the inner critic would turn next. :)
Thanks again for the fun video! It's great how much fun you are having DOING them!

  • What is your height? From your videos, seems like you're in great shape. Why need to be 139 or lower?

  • That is awesome Tiffany! Yay to being forever 142 lbs! :
Pilar ~ Thanks for sharing! And, Yes, Lizzie is totally cool and looks beautiful!! :) And, I totally agree when I am "On" in my training I feel so darn good it doesn't matter. That is what I am focusing more and more how do I feel in my body not what it weighs and not what it looks like so much. But, do I feel really alive, vibrant, healthy, happy and fit in my body if so... Yahooooo! :)
And, I think it is important that we shut these negative voices out and even if we do get on the scale and know that we aren't at that weight, it serves as a gentle reminder that we are not our weight and to love ourselves more! :)
And, hehehe I am having so much fun doing these videos! :)
Anonymous ~ I don't need to be at 139 lbs but my inner critic has that being my ideal weight. So, my thinking is why not just play with it and tell it that I am! :) And, I am 5'10'' and I am in decent shape, not great shape!
